Volunteering & Community Service

These are some of the volunteering and community service opportunities that I was fortunate to be involved in over the past year as well during my spring break in 2020.

Diya Foundation

Training adults with learning disabilities  & creating marketing videos for the Foundation

Diya Foundation works to enrich the quality of life and bring dignity to differently-abled adults by training them in life skills and employment skills. At Diya, I trained an adult with learning disabilities on the various processes of video production. I also created videos for the promotion and marketing of their "digitisation and multimedia"arm. I helped to mobilise resources for their fundraising initiative - the TCS 10K run. I also did the preliminary work on a video to showcase the benefits of gymming for Diya Trainees in a partnership with MultiFit Gyms.

Lovedale Foundation

Teaching Math and Science to children from marginalised communities

The Lovedale Foundation runs the Banyan School as a part of its education program to provide education to children from marginalised communities, children of bonded labourers, orphans, and abandoned children.
I trained the children of classes 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th in Maths and Science, as well as coached the children of Class 10th for their final board exams. I found teaching young kids to be a challenging and rewarding experience. And enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Yuvalok Foundation

Creating promotional videos & presentations for a school for underprivileged children

Yuvalok is a charitable school for street children, slum children and rescued child labourers. I produced a promotional video for the school along with two of my friends, showcasing "A Day at School".
